FIRST IMPRESSION REVIEW: ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Tulle

I am new to the whole lipstick world. Lipstick had never been a concern of mine until recently when I joined a local makeup group on Facebook where I bought this lipstick from another member that I jumped head first into the world of lipstick. And goddamn loving it. So yes, my review right now would be inexperienced and biased and it may sound something like what a sixteen-year-old would say after their first drink, but goddamn, I'm loving it.

The colour I will be reviewing is Tulle which is described on the website as "not the douchey kind but a dusty mauve burgundy." I chose to buy this colour because of my yellow undertone and lighter 'nude' colours make my lips disappear. Honestly. It looks like I don't have lips. (I'll post photos later.) I always go for the darker colour to play it safe and damn, didn't I hit the jackpot.

LET'S GET PHYSICAL

The packaging is so cute and so elegant. It looks like the packaging of a high end brand but with cheaper price tag. I love how sparkly the wordings are as you can see on the first picture. It comes in a cardboard box and it does tear easily but this has no effects on the actual lipstick.

There's nothing special about the bottle and the applicator. It does feel really sturdy but I wouldn't be surprised if it cracks or even breaks if I drop it. The sponge part of the applicator does not absorb much and even on my full lips, I only need to dip once. This makes it cost-efficient because you don't need to apply more.

They weren't kidding when they claimed this was super pigmented. It really was. I didn't need to re-dip the applicator into the bottle when I applied it and it still glided smoothly.

They also weren't kidding when they said it's ultra matte. It's super matte. Exfoliate first for your own good or apply (clear) lip balm before you apply the lip colour. Or do both. Even better.

Here is what it looks like on me. Please remember that I have a tan skin tone with a yellow undertone so it may look different on you.
