REVIEW: O Cosmedics Rebalancing Cream

This has only been May and my stress level is so high that my skin is terribly suffering. My skin is starting to thin that I can see my veins on my cheeks. My pores are huge, especially after the hot summer of Australia when everyday was over 30 degrees. I have always had acne for as long as I can remember but now they are accompanied by those tiny bumps that you can't see but you can feel.

Well, that's what people said. I can definitely see them and neurotic me thought it was too much. One day in April I went to this beauty salon to get my usual waxing (once you wax you never go back, to shaving I mean). The beauty therapist, her name is Deirdre, took one look at my skin and commented at how I've been breaking out. But like in a nice way, not in the obnoxious "Wow, you have a lot of acne, don't you?" way. She gave me a skin consultation and thought I should come back for an acne peel. Being the self-conscious person I am, I came back the next week.

After a very satisfying treatment in which I fell asleep for a couple of minutes, Deirdre sent me away with a very luxurious looking moisturiser with a luxurious price of AU$82. I almost wept but beauty comes with a price, especially if you're an easily anxious person. She told me to use my usual cleanser and follow with this cream.

INGREDIENTS

I have no idea what most of these are honestly. I would research all of them but that would take me years. However, I am sure it is water based and with glycerin, I know it hydrates very well without leaving that greasy film on your skin.It has some form of alcohol in it such as cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, and alcohol denat. I have not experienced any drying with this but if you are particularly affected by alcohol, please try before you buy. It also contains L-Sodium Hyaluronate and I believe it is related to hyaluronic acid, which is the natural acid your skin produces to kill bacteria and helps to hydrate skin. Lastly, it has Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil and I'm sure we've all heard the amazing benefits lemon has on oily skin.

REVIEW

So far this is the best moisturiser I have ever tried, which is good, since it is the most expensive. It has never dried me out before although it is not the most moisturising in the winter months. It absorbs into your skin very quickly and you don't need a lot. I experience some tightness in my skin due to dehydration and it relieves it pretty quickly.

Pros
  • Extremely lightweight
  • Fairly hydrating
  • Very refreshing and cooling
  • Has not broken me out (and many things break me out)
  • Has not made me oily during the day
  • Definitely helps with the congestion; it is decreasing drastically
  • Cute-ass packaging; look at this pump

Cons
  • Expensive; very expensive
  • If you have a really dry skin, look somewhere else
I love, love this product. But would I repurchase it? Probably not, unless my skin hasn't calmed down. If you have money to spend and want something that would work like a peel, then definitely get this. The price justifies the product and would leave your skin feeling so soft that you would probably get breakouts again because you won't be able to stop touching your skin (don't blame the product, it's entirely me. I get oblivious sometimes.)

Buy it here.
