Motivated and ready - can I do it?
Just like basically everyone else on the planet right now, I am super motivated for this year. This definitely is a New Year's burst and I know that in a couple of days I will mellow and back to my usual procrastinating BS. So I am writing down in a way to keep myself accountable for my actions because if there is nothing I hate more than being seen as irresponsible or immature.
Alright. This year I have decided to get my finances back in order. That means actually building up my emergency savings account and spending less money on dining out and paying back Afterpay instalments. I have watched a lot of YouTube videos which turns me back to detailed budgeting, a habit that I ditched ages ago when I was more financially secure.
But budgeting doesn't mean that I'm not gonna splurge once in a while. It's just more, I guess, a controlled splurging. Saving and spending money on things that I actually want and need for a long time. The first item on my wishlist is to buy a new laptop because this one is falling apart faster than my motivation. After that I am saving up on a number of microdermabrasion treatment - my skin needs TLC and it's long overdue and my self-esteem is taking a hit whenever I see my acne scars.
This plan also includes a new job which gives me better salary and benefits. I am currently receiving the bare minimum and I know I deserve so much better than the bare minimum. So if you are currently hiring, ahem, I have a diploma in Human Resource Management and I am currently doing an Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Management. Check out my LinkedIn profile here.
Another goal is to actually keep friends. I am terrible at keeping friendships because I have a terrible work-life schedule and when they talk to me I am usually too tired to reply back. I don't have a technique for this yet but I just haven't found a good YouTube video yet I guess.
I also have a goal that is completely unrelated to me. That goal is to adopt a cat. I have held on long enough. This is my time.
Okay that's it ciao
