MY EXPERIENCE: Copper IUD and Why I Chose It

Image
MY REASON The infamous Dalkon Shield (Cr: wired.com ) The copper (non-hormonal) IUD has always had some sort of bad reputations in a world of birth controls. It's no surprise; it does have some pretty shady history. In 1971 to 1974, there were 110 cases of septic spontaneous abortions in women and even seven cases of death who had the Dalkon Shield style of copper IUD inserted. Although the design has definitely improved in the current days, the side effects of it sound so risky that many women choose to turn to other forms of birth control. (Read more here .) I was one of those women. I chose to turn to artificial birth controls when I became sexually active because of my slightly irregular cycle which would make natural family planning very risky. I approached a GP about birth control choices and the only options he offered were the Pills, the Patch, and the Shot. I didn't see it as odd at first; I mean, who was I to question a doctor? So I asked for the Pills and th...

FIRST IMPRESSION REVIEW: ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Tulle

Image
I am new to the whole lipstick world. Lipstick had never been a concern of mine until recently when I joined a local makeup group on Facebook where I bought this lipstick from another member that I jumped head first into the world of lipstick. And goddamn loving it. So yes, my review right now would be inexperienced and biased and it may sound something like what a sixteen-year-old would say after their first drink, but goddamn, I'm loving it. The colour I will be reviewing is Tulle which is described on the website as "not the douchey kind but a dusty mauve burgundy." I chose to buy this colour because of my yellow undertone and lighter 'nude' colours make my lips disappear. Honestly. It looks like I don't have lips. (I'll post photos later.) I always go for the darker colour to play it safe and damn, didn't I hit the jackpot. LET'S GET PHYSICAL The packaging is so cute and so elegant. It looks like the packaging of a high end b...

REVIEW: O Cosmedics Rebalancing Cream

Image
This has only been May and my stress level is so high that my skin is terribly suffering. My skin is starting to thin that I can see my veins on my cheeks. My pores are huge, especially after the hot summer of Australia when everyday was over 30 degrees. I have always had acne for as long as I can remember but now they are accompanied by those tiny bumps that you can't see but you can feel. Well, that's what people said. I can definitely see them and neurotic me thought it was too much. One day in April I went to this beauty salon to get my usual waxing (once you wax you never go back, to shaving I mean). The beauty therapist, her name is Deirdre, took one look at my skin and commented at how I've been breaking out. But like in a nice way, not in the obnoxious "Wow, you have a lot of acne, don't you?" way. She gave me a skin consultation and thought I should come back for an acne peel. Being the self-conscious person I am, I came back the next week. After...

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome

Image
Source: http://tayorps.tumblr.com/ I would like to officially welcome everyone to my newest blog. (Intro: my old blog crashed and burned. As much as I know how much you all really do not care, please don't ask why.) As the name of the blog has so bluntly pointed out, in this blog I will post my most honest opinion on anything I deem worthy of blogging. Before I start though, I would like to mention the tiny fact that I am a Virgo and that means my honesty just means criticism and someone might actually cry. Over and all, I will try to not be myself way too much to prevent the production of tears and legal suing. I hope you are well, my future BHO readers, and I will see you again in my next post.
